Stamp Duty Calculator

The Stamp Duty Calculator computes the amount of Stamp Duty required to be paid for Registration of property purchased in different States in India. The 'Ready Reckoner' shown below has been devised by the Government as a useful tool to ease the process of Stamp Duty calculation.

Select the city of your choice, enter the value of the property and click on the 'calculate' button. The Stamp Duty amount to be paid will be displayed in the 'RESULT' box. To calculate Stamp Duty for a different value/State, click on the 'Clear' button to erase previous calculation.

You can calculate Stamp Duty payable on your property by finding out the market value of your Property and the Stamp Duty amount on it from the Ready Reckoner as follows:-

Punch in your division/village name and C.S./C.T.S. number of your property.
  • This information will aid 'Ready Reckoner' in locating your valuation zone and sub-zone.
  • From the table get to know your rate per square meter, then multiply that rate with the built-up area of your property in square meters. You will arrive at a value. Reduce or increase this value for lift and depreciation as indicated by the valuation factors given in the Ready Reckoner and you have calculated the market value. Next, find out the Stamp Duty amount applicable to you as per the market value.
The Office of the Superintendent of Stamps also does this procedure for you for a nominal fee. Official market value of properties, for calculating Stamp Duty rates, is published by the Inspector General of Registration periodically.
